We finally got a break from the wind today and got out on the Bulldog this afternoon with a great group of guys from Chicago. The bite was on from the start! Started out the trip by catching several spiny dogfish sharks (some were flying) on the spinning rods. We actually had 2 of these hooked up at the same time when a 3rd rod went off and line started evaporating from the reel! After a 25 minute fight on a 12lb class spinning rod, we managed to land one of the largest redfish I have ever had my hands on. It was 47 inches and weighed 42lbs! This fish was extremely tired and I spent several minutes helping him catch his breath. High fives all around as we watched him swim away. Great job guys!
